How long does henna last?
Henna can last anywhere from four days to four weeks depending on how well you take care of it and what part of the body you get it on. Henna will stain best on the hands and feet and gradually fades as you go up the body. Henna stains the first couple layers of skin so once those naturally shed, the henna stain comes off with it. To ensure a long lasting design, keep the henna stain moisturized and avoid exfoliation or chlorine.
How do you apply the henna?
Henna is applied as a paste first, then you let it dry on your skin and remove after 4-12 hours. It's like icing your skin! Once the paste is removed gently, you will see a bright orange stain that will darken over the next two days. It will gradually fade over time.
How do I take the henna paste off?
It's best to wait for the paste to come off naturally but if you can't wait or have smaller pieces left to remove, gently take the paste off with your hands. when you see a bright orange stain underneath, you'll know it's ready. For any extra stubborn henna paste, use any natural oil (olive, coconut, jajoba, avocado, ect.) to rub over the design. Continue to keep it moisturized and avoid water as much as possible as it continues to darken.
